Course Description:

This Course is specifically designed to deliver a well rounded conceptual framework for anyone wanting to discover the power of the most exciting 3D modeling tool on the market today! Whether you are new to SketchUp, or whether you already consider yourself an experienced SketchUp user – this course offers the fundamental knowledge and skills which are essential to have you modeling your latest project in no time.

Know before you go: You should be comfortable with the material in the following video tutorials available on the SketchUp web site: 1. Using the Mouse, 2. Basics of SketchUp. Completing the tutorials should only take about 15 minutes. 

Students who enroll in this course will be eligible to receive 3 Continuing Education Learning Units (AIA, ASLA).

Class Notes:

Classes will be at Sandbox Suites in the South Park area of San Francisco.

Students should bring their own laptop, power cord, and 3-button scroll wheel mouse.

Students should be sure to have the appropriate software installed ahead of time.

For this course, students may choose to install either SketchUp v8 (the free version), and/or SketchUp Pro v8 (the paid version). (See below for additional information.)

If you are using a company-issue laptop be aware that you and your company I.T. department will need to arrange for the following before class begins:
• SketchUp is installed and working OR SketchUp Pro is installed, licensed and working.
• Student has the ability to connect to a wireless network.
• Depending on the course, we may distribute sample files and/or plugins at the time of the class, the installation of which may require administrator privileges. If needed, we may be able to send the requisite files to you ahead of time, in order to avoid any I.T. snafus.
