Reading forums not doing it for you? Well, we know that sometimes it helpful to actually SEE someone else do it, which is why we need your suggestions for which topics to cover in our Podcasts. Give us your suggestion, and if we end up using it, we'll send you an autographed picture of Alex from when he was 9 y.o. (those were the not-so-good years). It's good for at least a couple of laughs.

Alex & Mike

As a woodworker, I would love to see a podcast showing how to construct a basic cabinet, bookcase, or table. Even better would be if it could illustrate the materials separately and together, possibly showing simple joint details, etc.

Thanks Robert

PS I really, really want a picture of Alex

Robert,

Thanks for the reply and know that your suggestion is now at the top of the list.

So that you, and everyone else knows, our next few podcasts (which have already been in the works) include a show about ruby scripts and plugins, as well as a series about the integration bewteen SketchUp and Google Earth. Keep on the look out as those are due to surface in the not so distant future.

Mike

p.s. Your zeal regarding a picture of Alex has me questioning whether maybe I should have offered up an old toaster or something.

Hi Mike and Alex,

Ok, I'm in heaven! Being able to view tricks and techniques again and again is my ticket to success.  Your positive intonation is great to hear and I will hear it again and again as I catch on to what you are demonstrating.

Thanks too for the Podcast! I'll enjoy seeing it at times I otherwise would be bored.

How about some interior design piece?  This would be a great way to plan for our big move in next month.  Wink

I will be seeing you!

Nancy Kiffer

Nancy,

Thanks for the great response! I guess all those retakes in the studio were worth it. You'll be glad to know that our newest podcast has just been uploaded to the site - and your request for some interior design tips has been added to our future podcast list.

Fyi, we're planning a future DVD on interiors which will contain a TON of info for interior designers.

Hope to hear more great feedback from you as our new stuff is released.

Robert - we just posted a podcast on woodworking per your request here in this thread. I hope it answers a few questions. Check it out over on the Podcasts page.

I'll try to dig up an old photo of myself to post here for your reward...

Hello Mike, this is odlanier from the SU forum. This is a fine site and I hope you can make it grow bigger and better everytime. Yu have the skills alright.

My suggestion is to make three training level tuts. A- Getting Started; B- Learning The Ropes and C- Advanced Skills.

Also I want to suggest you go to www.renderstudio.com/products/camstudio and get ths opensource, free tut builder.

Cheers

O.D. - whats up? it's been good getting going on the SU groups these past couple weeks. you and the other regulars really know your stuff. I've spent so much time on the road teaching classes the past few years that i just haven't really had much time to get into all that. i'm glad you've had a chance to check out our podcasts and even more so that you like 'em. we're certainly looking forward to helping as many people as possible.

thanks for the suggestions. we've got a few ideas for organizing the tutorials as we build our video library, skill level is one idea, professional industry is another.

as for screen cap stuff, we use camtasia for PC stuff and snapz or ishowu when we're on a mac (which is most of the time).

Something I've always wanted to learn. The work flow from modeling in SketchUp to playable Grand Theft Auto SA.

I know the programs involved but have never been able to follow the crappy tuts available. Your tuts are king! So I would like to see if you can figure it out....

You will need GTASA and MED (map editor)

I'm trying to build a playable MINNEAPOLIS map.

The whole city is available in google earth.... there should be a tut on line of how to take a google earth city and create a col file or whatever needs be done to get that city playable in GTASA engine.

Good luck!
