hi im an architecture student and need help getting all the shapes in my model to lay flat so that i can export into a flat image to use the laser cutter.
is there any easy way to do this? i am using mostly triangles and when i use the rotate tool they go every which way and can never get them flat. im also doing this over and over and over again so i want to find the quickest way possible. PLEASE HELP ASAP! thanks
Jim Foltz created a ruby script called jf_unfoldtool.rb to help with that process.
You can find the script here on the Ruby Library Depot. the scripts are listed in alphabetical order, so just scroll down to the Js.
It's a pretty straight forward script to use. let me know though, if you have any trouble getting it to work, or if you have any other questions.
