Have you ever wondered how to get seamless tileable textures into SketchUp? We typically just use Photoshop and spend a couple of hours creating something that our mom's could be proud of. Then we found ImageSynth.
ImageSynth is a product from the good people at Luxology. They've created a plugin for Photoshop that makes it so that now we only have to spend minutes instead of hours creating textures and materials for SketchUp
In this episode, follow along as Mike creates a tileable texture from a digital photo of a green roofing product called Live Roof, and then another seamless texture for a recycled glass countertop material [Note: The recycled glass countertop image is from Vetrazzo, a company with some great products we're thinking about using in some of our current design work] . We've provided the project files so you can work along with the example.
| Oh, and if you love ImageSynth, be sure to check out their special offer good for the rest of December. You can get the plugin for $69 (regularly $99) through the end of 2007. Find the special deal here. | ![]() |
