this would be a pretty cool trick to show in a future episode.
in the mean time, here's what i've done before to create cushions:
using the sandbox tools, create a contour from scratch and then use the smoove tool to effect the surface to give it a pillow-esque sort of an undulation.
then make the contour a component, copy it, and flip the copy upside down.
the 2 surfaces will probably not meet up perfectly at the edges so at that point you have 2 options:
- go into the component and use the move tool to move the edges together until they touch.
- overlap the components and then use intersect with model to define the intersecting edge and delete the parts that overlap.
